Let's eradicate hunger!
Let's work together to stop food wastage and share so nobody lives in hunger.
Our activities
Partnership with other organisations
Activity: The group is in a process of establishing partnership with organizations like “Fare
Share” and “Neighbourly” which are responsible for diverting surplus supermarket stocks
to the smaller charities. The group is planning to utilize these ingredients supplied in
cooking hot meals. The objective of this activity is to avoid the food hunger as well as food
wastage contributing to getting carbon footprints lowered and helping environment.
Benefits: The group is in the conversation with Framework shelter homes in Nottingham where the hot meals can be delivered on every Saturday lunch time. Current estimates will allow the group to cook 100 hot meals every week along with fruits or some desserts. Shelter homes are currently only providing a bed to the homeless people. We are planning to contribute to the physical wellbeing of these individuals by providing one freshly cooked hot meal at least once a week. If this initiative gets enough support, we may think of expanding the quantity of hot meals or add an additional day for cooking.

Community Kitchen
Activity: The group is planning to open a community kitchen on Saturday morning along
with the Food bank. As a part of first activity, we are planning to cook hot meals on
Saturday morning for shelter homes, we are also planning to provide the same for the
surrounding community. Group is in the conversation with various individual shops along
with “Fare Share” and “Neighbourly” and establish weekly collection schedules on
Thursday Friday for the surplus stock. The stock will cover all sorts of commodities like
Bakery, dairy, fruits, vegetables, ambient food items etc. These will be then made available
for the food bank consumption.
Benefits: The location where we will be running this initiative is a Basford region in Nottingham. This is a low wage income, deprived area. We have posted the leaflets around households and having the discussion with the neighborhood. We are estimating 40 to 50 families from the surrounding area can be benefited with the weekly free groceries and one hot meal every Saturday morning. This will give a helping hand to the families in their struggle of fighting energy and food price increase.

Education syllabus.

Involving younger children In volunteering with us to get their appreciation toward the objectives of this group to avoid Food wastage and poverty along with helping environment. Introducing our future generation, selfless service attitude and how can they add value in building and holding communities together.

Meditation and Yoga sessions
Activity: The group is planning to conduct free medication and Yoga sessions once a week
along with a lunch on club for the elderly people. With our analysis, initially we are
expecting to start this club with 15/20 elderlies, hoping to grow the number bigger later on
Benefits: Post Covid, elderly generation is still feeling vulnerable, and they need social involvement. This club will offer them an environment to come and relax, take part in meditation and Yoga sessions, and enjoy a nutrient pack freshly cooked hot food lunch. This will contribute to their social, mental, physical as well spiritual wellbeing.
